Watch what DA's employees tell you - they do not keep their word. What was supposed to be "the ring of your dreams" has quickly become "a wasted purchase". I was told later that I could upgrade the center stone. I expressed what I wanted and was assured it was no problem - fast forward 2 months and it is a problem and they will NOT do the work they promised they would do in the manner I was told it would be done in. Use a different jeweler!

Stone missing

My fiance bought a ring durring the Dana Augustine event and proposed later that night only to have it put on my finger with a stone missing. Needless to say he wasnt happy that he spent so much on a ring that was supose to be perfect and ready for him to be embarrised because the jeweler didn't catch that a diamond was missing. This is and was very disapointing.

Ms. Kari, explained EVERY detail of the process, the amount of knowledge and understanding of every stone, size, clarity...etc. was totally mind-blowing. Kari helped my husband pick and purchase the most gorgeous ring for me, I haven't been able to stop crying. Thanks you so much!!

James and Steve came to our Zales Outlet in Edinburgh, IN on 3/23/19. I decided to purchase a marriage piece (all in one) with the center stone a garnet which is my hubby's birthstone. IT IS BETTER THAN I COULD`VE EVER IMAGINED!!!!!!! In the 20 yrs we have been married, I've had probably 15 different styles on my hand. When I saw this finished piece, I knew it would be my last!!! I had my wedding band made by you over ten years ago. I had a prong bend and took it in today to see about getting it fixed.

The jeweler Michele did and excellent job putting it into a new basket and cleaned the ring up...it looks like new. Great job, and the repair cost me nothing. Love your work and guarantee.

I bought a pendent today and plan to add to my collection soon, looking forward to making more pieces with you. I have a cluster I'll need reworked, your creative pieces give me lots of options and ideas.

I can't wait.

The Seamless collection looks very high end love how you see diamonds every profile top view and front and back view ! The jeweler set my diamond and the setting made my diamond look so much larger. Very happy with my purchase.

Dana Augustine Kay Jewelers Event

I found out about the Dana Augustine Event at Kay Jewelers a few weeks prior. One the employees told me I could look at and pick a few engagement rings from their online catalog and have them ordered to try on at the event!

After half a dozen phone calls to the Kay jewelers store and speaking with 3 different employees these styles I chose had been confirmed that they would be at the event. Well, my soon to be Fiancee webt there with the intention of buying one and having that moment, but to my dismay not a single style I had requested and been told would be there was actually at the event! Then again, was handed off to at least 3 different employees trying to scramble through what they had available.

The prices were all way too high compared to similar styles at other jewelers. What a wasted experience.

Dana's jewelry is very over priced , he try's to make it out to seem like he is giving you a deal and in reality he definitely is not. Then after reading the reviews I am glad I didn't purchase anything.

I worked for this crook for some time . His diamond quality is garbage.

His jewelry is marked up 7 times. He under pays his factory workers.

His quality control is horrible. Do not by from these people.

Rhodium doesn't last

My fiancé purchase a setting for my diamond and it cost about $6,000. Which was over priced for the ring and within a month my white gold stared to look yellow. I took it back during another event and DA had the rhodium redone in about 30mins and within a month it started to turn yellow again. Worst purchase ever made. The quality not worth the money paid.

Incomplete job

I went to a Dana Augustine event at our local Zales. I had decided to get my 1 ct heart shaped diamond remounted in a thicker band.

I picked out a beautiful semi-mount and decided to purchase it even though it was so over priced. The jeweler from Dana Augustine performed the work in the store and presented me with the ring within an hour. I thought it looked beautiful.....until about an hour later. The band began to discolor.

Within a few hours, the entire band was discolored. It didn't look white gold anymore. I was horrified. I brought the ring back and showed the Zales manager.

He agreed with me that the Dana Augustine rep had not completed the job as he had not dipped the ring in rhodium plating that is essential after work is done on a ring. I was angry and requested a full refund.

Too high and mighty

As a store manager whom has worked with Dana Augustine on several occasions, I can honestly say their product is excellent quality. Now, can you find the same if not better quality at other companies for less? Absolutely! And yes, you CAN find the same quality produced in America at a superior price. They are extremely proud of their product and the markup is ridiculous. But price aside, here is my biggest issue with Dana Augustine: their attitude. They talk to people like they're so far above us common folk that it is our privilege to interact with them. Every little request is treated like a major burden (god forbid we ask for a mounting in a different color). We had a Vice President come down for one event and he was being nasty and making fun of jewelry consultants for their appearance and bragging about his house and his money and his wedding. Every time I have dealt with them, it has been the same routine. In their eyes, we are dirt, the customer is dirt, and it is our privilege to be treated as such because they and their product is just so far above everyone. Do not buy from these guys. Do not line their pockets. Go to a family owned business instead that actually treats you like a person.

I just my diamond put into a setting ( my diamond was purchased in 1972 & its perfect) I`m so scared it might fall out. I should have never went to the show at Kay`s :(

Overly Priced

There is no stamp of the 14kt like they said and the D.I.A mark. They put my 1ct round diamond in a new setting that I bought from a Event at Zales and it cost me than more than diamond.

I do feel ripped off and there is no number to call on website. The Jeweler who added my own diamond in the ring was excellent his name was John and he knew his stuff very impressed with him. The sales guy Tom was very hard to bargain with, impossible to get him to budge with price. I paid $5700.00 tax not included for a halo setting and the tag said $7000.00 in the jewelry retail word that didn't seem like a deal at all ( That was without a diamond JUST SETTING).

I was in love with the ring and now having buyers remorse cause it cost way more than I expected and feel completely ripped off.

Thinking of returning since I bought it! Don't get wrong its a beautiful ring but I have Diamond rings with more carets that was bang for my buck and feel Ive could've got more ring for my $$

An appraisal is the "replacement" value I.e. How much it would cost to replace the piece if need be. That's for insurance purposes and your insurance company will most likely work with a jeweler to replace the ring rather than just hand you a check.

It was a setting at 1.28CT $6100.00 with Tax and care and repair, w/out my diamond. I had my 1CT diamond put in and had the ring appraised with my diamond in it , it only appraised at $7999.00 to me thats horrible and therefore Im extremely upset!

It should have double in appraisal or at least close to it.

So,it didn't help!

Your diamond in 2023 is only worth about 2000 dollars it was probably worth significantly less then. Your mounting was 6000 dollars. Your appraisal added up to 8000 dollars i fail to see the issue here, the company was not going to sell it’s pieces at half value.

As a store manager who works with Dana Augustine a few times throughout the year i have some insight to offer you. Often, buyers are accustomed to jewelry having a high retail or "tag" price and then receiving multiple high percent and/or dollar discounts.

This is the norm for your average "out of the case" mass produced jewelry. But, what you have is an exclusive piece, something unique. Each Dana design is made in very limited runs, some as few as 3 to 4 only. D.A.

has excellent quality control, uses premium materials, etc. Dana prices there items competitively from the get go, rather than overpricing and offering a big discount. And in my company, and most others, there is only a limited amount we can discount that product, usually around 10%. Remember, you are getting a premium product, with that comes a premium, but fair price.

Think of it like this, you bought a ferrari, not a ford focus, you have the best and paid a little more to have that. That piece will last a lifetime and be something that can be handed down to your children and childrens' children.

Enjoy it, cherish it, wear it with pride. Hope that helps.

All his jewelry is overpriced. Diamond quality is bad especially the melee's .

I bought a setting 2 days ago at Kay and am having serious buyer's remorse. I had them set my diamond into a setting with two smaller stones and now believe I paid more for that setting than the entire ring is worth, including my original diamond.

My receipt simply says 14YG mountings so there's nothing identifying it as a designer ring or what size the diamonds are. I called the jeweler the next day and they said it is semi-custom and therefore non-returnable. Not happy at all with my purchase, will not every trust Kay Jewelers again because they promoted this.

I was just being sentimental and wanting to keep my original diamond. I could've purchased a Neil Lane bridal set twice the size of this entire ring for the same price.

Son in law to be got a custom ring made from them at Zales in Ca . In less than 3 weeks the center diamond started spinning a smaller diamond fell out and the size material wasnt re plated. They took it in they said it would be months to send out and get back she is not willing because her grand fatjers diamond is the center diamond. They went to a smaller jewler and have just been told the hole she sees is cause its a hollow band not solid what the *** ! Dont use this designer he took $6,000 from this young kid and its *** work

Smaller jewelers will always feed you a line of crap so you purchase from them next time. There's no way it's a "hollow" band because there's no such thing.

Dana Augustine is a sick individual. Any person putting money in this mans pocket is an *** . He mistreats everyone who works for him unless they are so called "making him money ". Think twice before applying to this unethical business . The quality of their jewelry is pretty much *** and they are robbing people with their outrageous prices . Don't be surprised if you are almost always dissapponted with your purchase . It will be a happy day the moment he goes out of business .

Dana Augustine is a racist. He purposely underplays any African American employee who work in the shop that produces his jewelry in Kennesaw Ga.

No African American will ever be promoted in his shop. Only white supervisors are hired.

African Americans should never purchase his jewelry. He should be ashamed of himself but the prejudices rule him

i would have to agree. The majority of what i have purchased is made in the U.S with heavier gold weight and better diamond quality than some premade pieces i have come across.

Diamonds fell out of mounting

Hello,

I purchased an over $6000 halo engagement ring and two anniversary bands from Dana Augustine at a show in February 2014 at Helzberg Diamonds in Gurnee, IL. I had my original diamond set right there in the store that day. Within less than 2 months, diamonds had fallen out to the halo engagement ring, and I had to return it for repairs to Dana Augustine via Helzberg Diamonds, and it took over 10 business days and more than 2 weeks total to get it fixed and returned, which is outrageous. Again, in July 2014, less than 6 months from purchase of the original mounting, I had more diamonds fall out of the halo setting on the engagement ring. I took it to Helzberg on 7/8 at 10:00 AM CDT when the store opened and was told by the employee at Helzberg that the ring was going out THAT morning and being over nighted to Dana Augustine. I called Helzberg for an update on 7/10, and they said it hadn't even shipped until the afternoon of 7/9 and Dana Augustine would not even get it until 7/11. That is my first complaint. Helzberg promised an immediate and over night shipping of the ring via UPS, and they failed. On 7/11, I was called by Helzberg and told Dana Augustine would have the ring back to me "early the week of 7/14", and I explained I needed it no later than Thursday, 7/17, as I was going out of town, and I had expressed my disappointment with the quality and service I was receiving. I informed them the diamond had been replaced by a QZ, and Dana Augustine was aware as well. I called Helzberg on 7/16 for an update and was told I would get the ring possibly on 7/18 if not on 7/21. I complained about the service and quality of the Dana Augustine piece and would expect for $6000 diamonds would not contiually fall out of the ring. Dana Augustine communicated to Helzberg that it was because the stone had been replaced, which is absolutely not the case. I had to send it back to Dana Augustine PRIOR to the stone being replaced, SO explain that. Explain the horrific customer service. Explain the horrific quality. The mounting is separate then the stone. I have contacted the very reputable jeweler on Jewler's Row in Chicago, and THEY are going to be taking care of this "wonderful" piece of jewelry for me from now on. I WILL be filing a complaint against both companies as I have spent over $8000 with the two companies since February, and I have received NOTHING but horrible service. It took me calling and complaing again today, 7/16, to get Helzberg to call Dana Augustine and have them overnight the ring to the store in Gurnee by Thursday morning. In addition, Helzber told me they "don't do overnight via FedEx, just two day", and I was told when I dropped it off, they would "overnight it via UPS". That is awful, awful customer service on both parts. Had I done my research, I would have read all the horrific and awful reviews on Dana Augustine online prior to purchasing the setting. Trust me, I will be filing all the complaints and reviews I can from YELP to the BBB to any other site online, so noboby else has to waste their time and money on shoddy service and quality.

I would expect better from two supposedly "reputable" jewelers.

Same review twice. What the customer fails to mention is the work she had performed by a local jeweler who left the mounting bent and with tool marks.

Im actually at an event right now in New England so I decided to go online and read reviews. I brought this review up to the designer and he assured me the company does not set any white stone besides diamond. Logically then wouldnt it have had to be set by another jeweler then sent to the restyle company after?
